The Lower Ottawa Valley Chapter (LOV) of the Ontario Woodlot Association (OWA) exists to serve woodlot owners in Eastern Ontario near the Nation's Capital. Without any rigid boundaries this chapter was created to serve the OWA members and supporters as far east as the Quebec-Ontario border; as far west as Perth; as far south as Prescott and to the Renfrew County line to the north. Members are of course free to decide which chapter they wish to belong to. There are no hard and fast rules.

For the local woodlot owner the LOVC offers opportunities to share ideas and learn by participating in real hands on and face to face events in the field. The chapter has just held its first event that was a woodlot tour just west of Perth ON. It was a great event.

There are many potential topics to chose from for future events, such as maple syrup production, the tax incentive program detail, chain saw use, maintenance and safety, global warming effects and much more.

If you are located in the Ottawa area of Eastern Ontario and own a woodlot or have related interests you should be a member of the chapter. It will keep you connected with your peers and helps you to stay informed about the myriad of topics that can affect your valuable woodlot.
